HOW TO OBJECT to Application

Shiremoor 630 Home new development

The location of the 630 new homes for Shiremoor West are located north of the metro line to the east of the A19. This is broken into two smaller sites, site 65 and site 77, located around the Pavillion Pub area.

The major infrastructure and road access points are already in place (shown by purple arrows). However the landowner/developer submissions (Northumberland Estates) says they are "looking to progress the scheme with a masterplanned approach", because of this no housing can be completed until years 6 to 10.

Access to Shiremoor New housing development Site profile for Site 65 says site is allocated as employment in UDP 2002, North Tyneside Council says requirement to reduce overall employment supply means its release for housing would be acceptable.

In the image (left), the complete site boundary is bordered red, with the potential open areas shown green. The white area within the plan red border is where the housing is proposed to be developed. Access points to the development are shown as purple arrows, no new access is required to this site which is proposed in two phases site 65 (south) and site 77 (north).

This development may have a potential impact on the levels of traffic on the Holystone Bypass (Holystone Way)
